Aaron Carpenter

Aaron Carpenter is a PhD Candidate in the Department of German Studies at the University of Washington. He specializes in 20th- and 21st-century German and Austrian literature and philosophy as well as translation studies.
He is currently working on how authors form former-Yugoslavia who write in German use loanwords in their respective languages to represent counter-narratives around traumatic incidents and history, such as World War II or the breakup of Yugoslavia.
Aaron is presently teaching German at the University of Washington.
