Matthew Childs
Board Member
Matthew Childs is a PhD Candidate in the Department of German Studies at the University of Washington. He specializes in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century German literature and philosophy as well as the environmental humanities.
He is currently working on the forms and functions of literary representations of catastrophe in nineteenth-century German literature and their relations to socio-historical context in which they were created.
Matthew is presently teaching courses on academic writing, debate, and American culture at the University of Münster’s Sprachenzentrum (Language Center).
